Charges have been filed related to Kanawha County school threats

Officials announced new charges have been filed amid a string of threats made to Kanawha County public schools that led to closures and an increased law enforcement presence on some campuses. Two individuals were charged Monday regarding threats against Elkview Middle School, according to Kanawha County prosecuting attorney Debra Rusnak. Rusnak told Eyewitness News they’re both in 8th grade. These are in addition to two other students charged last week. Rusnak announced Friday students from Sissonville Middle and Dupont Middle School have been accused of making terroristic threats. Similar investigations in Ohio and Kentucky have also resulted in charges against students.
