Charleston Postal Facility will stay open, no employee impact

The United States Postal Service announced Thursday that it will keep its Charleston facility open with no impact on employees. This after a long review that left it in question The decision comes after the facility’s future was unclear for months after the USPS announced a plan to streamline its network to save money. As part of the process, the facility was placed under review. Thursday’s announcement means the Charleston facility will remain open with no employee impacts, according to the news release. In addition, the Charleston center will receive up to $22.8 million in funding to renovate the location into a local processing center.
