Deadline to apply for FEMA aid from April floods extended to Nov 2

The deadline for West Virginia residents affected by the April floods, landslides, and mudslides to apply for federal disaster assistance has been extended to Saturday, November 2, 2024 by FEMA at the request of Governor Jim Justice due to the ongoing influx of new applications from storm survivors. Residents in the eight counties impacted by the disaster are eligible to apply for FEMA disaster grants. These grants are available to both homeowners and renters and can provide financial assistance for temporary housing, essential home repairs, replacement of personal property, and other critical disaster-related needs. Importantly, this disaster aid is not considered taxable income and does not affect eligibility for other federal and state assistance programs.
