A man with several warrants was arrested in Wayne County after a pursuit in which he rammed a cruiser multiple times according to deputies. Shawn “Shug” Risner, 37, was spotted by the Drug Enforcement after failure to appear in court for previous charges. Authorities attempted to apprehend him and he rammed his truck into a deputy’s cruiser before fleeing, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. The pursuit was stopped for safety but deputies recovered a gun and a bag of meth that Risner threw from the vehicle. Later taken into custody, Risner faces multiple charges including assault on an officer and charges of the initial warrant. He is currently being held at Western Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond.
