Man who fired shots and wore body armor learns his prison sentence

A man who pleaded guilty to gun crimes in Kanawha County was sentenced to a decade in prison Monday after deputies responding to a shots fired call found the man heavily armed and wearing body armor. James Kline of Elkview has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges of wanton endangerment and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Dispatchers received a shots fired call at an Elk Village Drive apartment complex in December of last year and responding deputies found Kline carrying a loaded rifle and wearing ballistic body armor. He surrendered to officers.
