Newly created task force will help handle school threats

The West Virginia Department of Homeland Security is creating a task force to address school safety, according to a press release from Gov. Jim Justice’s office. This comes after dozens of threats were recorded against schools around the state. The School Safety Task Force will be made up of people from the West Virginia Fusion Center, State Police, the Safe Schools Unit, the Department of Education, the Prevention Resource Officer Program, as well as federal law enforcement partners.
