The incident was reported just before 7:30 a.m. in the 5300 block of Big Tyler Road near Point Harmony Elementary School, according to Kanawha County dispatchers. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said the woman and her 5-year-old son were crossing the road when a driver struck them. Both were taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
