A West Virginia State University student-athlete was fatally shot Wednesday evening. 21-year old Jyilek Harrington, a senior linebacker from Charlotte, North Carolina, was killed at an apartment complex in the 700 block of Regency Drive.
The shooting remains under investigation as police said no suspect has been identified. Anyone with information may contact investigators by calling 304-348-6480 or emergency dispatchers at 304-348-8111. WVSU president Ericke Cage said counseling is available for students and staff. A vigil was held last night for Harrington.
