WVU touts high retention numbers this semester

West Virginia University announced Friday that the fall 2024 semester marks the institution’s highest retention rate recorded. The school is touting a freshman retention rate of 83.2%, after implementing several policies to keep students enrolled. A new tutoring center and a grant program aim to ease the burden on financially at-risk students. Official numbers will not be available until October when they are reported to the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.
