A Kanawha County man was sentenced to prison after attacking a victim with an axe handle. 41-year old Joey Randall Butler II of Charleston, was sentenced to one-to-five years in prison after pleading guilty to a malicious wounding charge, according to a new release from the Kanawha County Prosecutor’s Office. The news release said Butler struck a man in the back of the head with the handle, causing a laceration. Records said the victim fell into a door frame, dislocating his shoulder and breaking a finger.
