A Republican delegate resigned Tuesday evening during a special session of the West Virginia Legislature. Del. Paul Espinosa, who represents the state’s 98th District in Jefferson County, lost his primary run for a Senate seat earlier this year.
State records show Espinosa accepted an appointment to the West Virginia Racing Commission Tuesday. The group oversees thoroughbred horse and greyhound dog racing in the state.
