The West Virginia Future Leaders Program at Roane County High School is equipping students with essential life skills, thanks to an initiative by the West Virginia Air National Guard. Staff Sgt. Tyler Caruthers, who leads the program, told Eyewitness News it’s all about helping students evolve into good citizens. Students in the program engage in coursework that covers financial responsibility, medical training and emergency preparedness. It’s for all students, and not just those interested in military careers.
