Gov. Justice signs bills passed during the special session

Jim Justice signed several pieces of legislation this week including the personal income tax cut, childcare tax credit and more following the conclusion of the special session last week. The personal income tax cut will be 2%, after the governor initially sought after a 5% cut. The tax cuts go into effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
The governor also signed the bill which will provide a childcare tax credit to the amount of 50% of one’s person income tax. The special session ended with more than 35 bills passing the state legislature which Justice touted as a major accomplishment as his time as governor ends and he seeks a Senate seat in November’s general election.
