Input will be take from the public regarding the closure of Clay Middle School

Four public meetings are coming up regarding the closure of Clay County Middle School. The Board of Education met this week to begin the process of closing the school at the end of the 2026-2027 school year. The public will have the chance to weigh in at any of the four meetings and then a vote will decide whether to close the school. If passed, sixth-grade students would attend Clay County and Big Otter Elementary School, and seventh- and eighth-graders would be sent to Clay County High School. The first of four public meetings will be held on November 6 at 6 pm at Clay Middle School.
