Deputies identified a motorcyclist who died after crashing into a car last week in Charleston. 37-year old Carl Simpkins II, of Raleigh, North Carolina, died Friday, Oct. 11 following a wreck along Kanawha Boulevard East, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. The news release said Simpkins crashed into a vehicle turning onto Piedmont Road. The motorcyclist was taken to CAMC General Hospital where he died from his injuries. No charges have been filed at this time, but deputies said the crash remains under investigation.
