Mayor attends ribbon cutting for new Riverview Park amenities

Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin joined the Wertz Avenue community for a ribbon cutting celebration, costume contest, pumpkin decorating, scavenger hunt, face painting, and crafts this week. The City said on its website that the Charleston Land Reuse Agency sought public input for the Riverview School property in 2022 at the request of Mayor Goodwin. There was consensus that picnic spots were wanted, along with playground equipment for kids. Riverview Park amenities were born out of that, including two new playground structures, a swing set, a shelter with picnic tables, benches and shade systems, two restroom facilities, basketball goals, updated lighting and asphalt, and more.
