Hundreds of drivers in Putnam County want an overpass to be built at Route 35 and Hurricane Creek Road. The intersection has seen dozens of crashes over the years, with 36 in the past five years. Organizers of a petition presented it to the Putnam County Transportation Committee in July with about 1,700 signatures, and now the total number of signatures is over 2,000. A traffic study is happening now, and they’ll make a decision about whether to add an overpass at Route 35 and Hurricane Creek Road sometime in 2025.
