Renovations will bring security upgrades to the Kanawha County Judicial building

Plans continue to renovate Kanawha County’s Judicial building. It will cost about $16 million, and will bring with it upgrades to security on the first floor plus new offices for judges. State law now requires Kanawha County to have eight judges with the additional circuit judge to be elected in November. Commissioners have plans to negotiate with the lowest bidder to work out a lower price. Renovations will begin soon after a final price is negotiated, and the project will take until 2026 to complete.
