West Virginia updates opportunities for viewing fall foliage

Tourism officials have mapped out a new route to showcase the Mountain State’s scenic roadways in time for travelers to enjoy peak fall foliage. The Heritage Highway is the fifth loop in the West Virginia Mountain Rides program, running 200 miles in the southern portion of the state. The route passes several mountain towns including Bluefield, Princeton and Welch. Points of interest along the route include the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine, Hatfield-McCoy Trails, Tamarack, Pinnacle Rock and Twin Falls. Additional Mountain Rides include the Birds Eye Bend, Capitol Circle, Cranberry Corridor and Seneca Highway.
