West Virginia University officials met Wednesday to review the ongoing search efforts for a new leader after president Gordon Gee announced he will retire at the end of his contract which ends June 30, 2025. Applications will be accepted starting (today) Friday, Oct. 11, according to a news release from WVU. The university’s Board of Governors has created a leadership profile to aid in search efforts, using feedback from listening sessions, surveys and consultants. Three-to-five finalists will be selected from interviews. WVU plans to announce the institution’s new leader in spring of 2025. The Board of Governors will meet again Nov. 22 to review the search process.
