Zoning change could allow historic homes to become Airbnbs

A change to a zoning ordinance in Charleston will allow new uses for historic homes. Up until now, historic homes could only be used as office space, but with the zoning change homes that are on the West Virginia Registry of Historic Homes couldl be used for things like a bed and breakfast. Property owners could turn an historic home into a bed and breakfast as long as they have parking spaces. Neighbors will be notified and they’ll have the chance to voice any concerns with the City before permits are approved.
