Charleston will offer free parking on Saturdays during the holiday season

City officials have approved “Citizen Appreciation Parking” for the holiday season, waiving hourly fees at metered and on-street spaces in Charleston. Free parking will be offered on Saturdays, including Nov. 23 and 30 along with Dec. 7, 14, 21 and 28, according to a news release from the city of Charleston. Free parking is also offered in city-owned garages on weekends and from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays. Mayor Amy Goodwin said the hope the expanded parking options will make it easier for folks to support local businesses during the holidays.
