Marshall coach Charles Huff has been named the next head coach at Southern Miss. The moves came less than 24 hours after Marshall won its first Sun Belt Conference championship 31-3 over Louisiana. Huff came to Marshall in 2021 after serving as associate head coach and running backs coach at Alabama. His contract at Marshall was set to expire in January 2025 and was not renewed. Huff went 32-20 in his four seasons in Huntington, including four straight bowl appearances.
