$6.2 million will go toward projects around Charleston

City leaders in Charleston have allocated millions of dollars for 15 projects. The Charleston City Council approved the use of $6.2 million for projects including city-wide beautification efforts, Charleston Fire Department bunker gear, upgrades at Charleston City Council chambers, expanding Charleston Urban Works to Kanawha City, and installing security cameras at parks and recreation facilities.
Several of the projects had previously been outlined during Charleston Mayor Amy Goodwin’s 2025 State of the City Address. Other projects include building a firefighter training center and developing a public safety center.
