Former hospital CEO is sentenced for stealing hospital funds

The former CEO of Williamson Memorial Hospital has been sentenced and ordered to pay restitution. Charles Hatfield o Williamson was order to five years of federal probation, fined $20,000, and ordered to pay more than $34,000 in restitution in a theft and bribery investigation involing federal funds. Court records show Hatfield admitted that while serving as CEO of Williamson Memorial Hospital, he stole hospital funds for his personal use. Hatfield was relieved of his duties in 2019. In October of that year, Williamson Memorial Hospital filed for bankruptcy and has since reopened under new ownership.
