Cabell County Schools received unclaimed money Thursday believed to be from vendors that did business with the school system over the last several years. State Treasurer Larry Pack presented the County school System with a check for more than $33,000. Superintendent Tim Hardesty said the money will go into the general fund. “There are a lot of needs that pop up on a daily basis that when you set your budget a year before, you really don’t know about or how to plan for,” Hardesty explained.Since July 1, the State Treasurer’s Office has returned more than $22 million. About $400 million remains unclaimed.
