State funds will help with water and sewer projects around the state

The Water Development Authority approved $25.9 million in economic enhancement projects for West Virginia this month. The fund will go toward more than a dozen projects, including several water and sewer upgrades. In Kanawha County, the Greater St. Albans Public Service District will use $3.75 million in grant money to extend sewer service to new customers in Tornado. Eyewitness News said Cedar Grove will use $1.5 million for sewer collection system upgrades. Nitro will use $800,000 to upgrade storm sewers. The Putnam County Development Authority has been awarded $5 million to help build 600 new residential units. In Cabell County, Milton was awarded $2 million for a water system upgrade project.
