A man charged in connection with the death of his 10-month-old child appeared in Cabell County Circuit Court Tuesday. Eyewitness News said Stefan Gibbs entered a Kennedy plea, accepting punishment for neglecting his child, without admitting guilt and agreeing to testify in the case of his co-defendant Samantha Thomas, the child’s mother. Prosecutors said the baby died as a result of heroin intoxication. Gibbs faces one-to-five years in prison when he is sentenced on April 1.
