Bids are awarded for several transportation projects around West Virginia

The West Virginia Department of Transportation announced the approval of multiple highway construction projects for West Virginia on Wednesday, including work on a problematic intersection in Putnam County. Bear Contracting has been awarded a contract to realign the intersection of Routes 869 and 817 at the Buffalo Bridge, allowing traffic a straight route to cross the Kanawha River, with a bid of $6.34 million.
Other contract were awarded too. PDK Construction will renovate interstate signs in Charleston with a bid of $5.29M. Triton Construction aims to rehabilitate the Steven Wayne Smith Memorial Bridge with a bid of $3.45M. And Tempo Construction has been tasked with repairing a culvert along Thorofare Road with a bid of $386K.
