Two people have died in the floods, and a third death is likely related to the weather. Gov. Patrick Morrisey said during a news briefing that a husband and wife from Welch, Donald and Debbie Griffin, were killed during flooding over the weekend. Morrisey said he requested a federal emergency disaster declaration in order to receive federal funding and additional resources. The governor said cleanup and recovery efforts continue for much of southern West Virginia. The state is currently working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and other agencies to respond to the areas affected.
