Kentucky death toll rises in flood waters

The death toll in Kentucky has risen to 20 after heavy rainfall caused severe flooding which was followed by freezing temperatures and snow, officials said. The latest announcement included five individuals that died due to recent weather included a man from Pike County, as well as adults from Warren, Caldwell, Ohio, and Morgan counties, according to Gov. Andy Beshear. Beshear’s announcement rises the total confirmed deaths as four in Pike County, one in Clay County and one in Floyd County, although locations have not been confirmed for each of the 20 individuals. Meanwhile, three people have been confirmed dead in West Virginia following the severe weather, all in which were in McDowell County.
