More than 200 people who were on probationary status have lost their jobs in Parkersburg as the federal government continues to scale back. Probationary workers are defined as those who have been with their agency for less than a year. Between two hundred and two hundred fifty people were laid off from the Federal Bureau of Fiscal Services facility in Parkersburg, which handles the government’s accounting payment system and public debt.
