Kanawha and Putnam County firefighters responded to a fire Friday morning on Monta Vista Drive off of Big Tyler Road in Cross Lanes. Nitro officials told Eyewitness News an elderly woman was helped out of her home by a neighboring family member. The homeowner was not injured, but was taken to a hospital for observation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
