WVA Treasurer wants term limits on several offices

West Virginia’s state treasurer said Tuesday he plans to propose a constitutional amendment that would put term limits on some elected statewide offices. Treasurer Larry Pack said in a news release that his planned proposal to the state legislature would cap those serving in the office of secretary of state, auditor, state treasurer, commissioner of agriculture or attorney general at three consecutive terms or 12 years total in a particular office. Establishing term limits will help ensure politicians serve the people rather than themselves,” Pack said in the news release.
