West Virginia astronaut is honored by lawmakers

West Virginia astronaut, Emily Calandrelli, was honored on the House Floor last Friday. She’s a Morgantown native, and was a part of the Blue Origins NS-28 Mission last fall. With that trip to outer space, she became the second woman from West Virginia to do it and the 100th woman in space. Calandrelli was recognized for raising over $50,000 for West Virginia charities. She’s also been a big proponent for getting more women to pursue STEM careers.
