Drivers are working around crews making water infracture improvements

West Virginia American Water has plans to upgrade its infrastructure in Chalreston. The company announced plans to invest about $350,000 in infrastructure improvements on Charleston’s West Side. The project includes replacing 860 feet of aging water mains with new PVC pipes along Matthews Avenue between Tinder Avenue and Park Avenue. Crews are working weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and drivers may find some lanes blocked during those hours. The project is underway now and should finish up by June with street repairs to follow. The company is investing more than $104 million in infrastructure projects this year.
