Cemetery to allow artificial flowers again

A controversial policy at a Kanawha County cemetery has been overturned, allowing artificial flowers to be placed on gravesites. Charleston’s Spring Hill Cemetery made a policy earlier in the year to ban synthetic flower decorations, citing issues with maintenance crews tasked with mowing and trimming the property. Public feedback led to a reversal of the policy to allow both artificial and real flowers, according to Eyewitness News. Those interviewed cited the cost of real flowers and vases on burial plots as reasons for using artificial decorations.
