The West Virginia Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating after suspicious fires damaged property at a Cabell County church Wednesday. A preliminary investigation suggests a fire was set at Brighter Day Ministry, located along Nine Mile Road in Lesage. Flames were quickly extinguished after a fire was initially reported about 12:15 p.m. Eyewitness News said a second call was made shortly before 3 p.m. and fire damaged three separate areas of the property. The worship area has smoke damage, and the fire also damaged supplies, decorations and lawn care equipment inside a storage building. It’s still under investigation.
