The West Virginia University football program unveiled a new uniform this week. The new uniform with old gold and blue is an ode to the 1965 Mountaineer football team which took the field 60 years ago this season. The minimal jersey design features a plain, navy blue jersey with no lettering outside of the player’s number and the Big 12 Conference and Nike logos. The jersey is complemented by old gold pants with a navy blue stripe down the side. The old gold helmet features the state’s outline in light blue with “WVU” in block lettering over it. It’s unclear when or how often the team will wear the uniforms during the 2025 season.
