Dunbar’s second fire station located in Roxalana closed its doors four weeks ago. Eyewitness News reported this comes after testing confirmed the building has black mold throughout and it was for the safety of the firefighters. They’ve applied for congressional funding to put towards fixing the current building, tearing it down and building something new, or to purchase a new location. Response times to locations which are served by the Roxalana department could be affected by one to two minutes in some cases. There’s no timeline for when this location will be reopened, rebuilt or relocated.
