Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced a new agenda this week to better manage roads and bridges across the state. The governor said at a news conference that he has directed the department of transportation to start a new project list that assess the need for repair and replacement of bridges and highways statewide that will prioritize projects in order. The plan includes focusing on long overdue maintenance, reducing administrative overhead and providing more transparency into ongoing projects. Secretary of Transportation Stephen Todd Rumbaugh told Eyewitness News they’re back to the basics concentrating on maintenance and preservation.
