Hundreds of sites offer summer meals for school-aged kids

The West Virginia Department of Education has worked to establish more than 400 sites for summer nutrition programs so school-aged kids can have access to meals. The Summer Food Service Program is funded through grant money from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, ensuring youth are fed when schools are closed for the season. The summer meals site finder is located on the USDA website. Charelston sites include the Martin Luther King Community Center, Charleston Boys and Girls Club, and Overbrook Elementary School.
