Attorneys for a man accused of shooting and killing a woman in the Kanawha City area waived his preliminary hearing. 18-year old Jacob Fields of Charleston was not at the hearing, but his attorneys appeard on his behalf. Charleston Police arrested Fields in the death of 42-year old Tiffany Adkins of Marmet. Adkins died on Tuesday, May 27 after a bullet struck her at the Sheetz gas station on MacCorkle Avenue Southeast. Fields said initially that the gun accidentally discharged, but in surveillance video, Fields can be seen pointing the gun directly at Adkins, according to investigators. The case is going to a grand jury.
