A man faces charges for firing shots as officers were serving warrants

One person is in custody after Kanawha County deputies said police were shot at while serving warrants early Wednesday morning. It happened about 6 a.m. on B Street while St. Albans police were attempting to execute search and arrest warrants. Deputies said when they knocked on the door and announced their presence, shots were fired from inside. The sheriff’s office said officers did not fire and the suspect was eventually taken into custody. An adult woman and a small child were inside the home at the time. There were no injuries.
