A pedestrian died after being struck by a train in Fayette County on Independence Day, investigators said. Emergency crews responded to Boonesborough Road about 8:30 p.m. on July 4 where a man was struck by a train as he was walking along railroad tracks, according to a news release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. Eyewitness News reported the man was pronounced dead at the scene. While the pedestrian has been positively identified, deputies said the name is being withheld out of respect for the man’s family.
