Time and weather have not been kind to Haines Branch Road in Kanawha County. People who live along the road said short term fixes are all they’ve gotten but now they said the road is in such bad shape, patch jobs won’t cut it anymore. with extensive cracks throughout the entire stretch of road. The last time it was paved was 92 or 93. We’ve been getting patch jobs for last 30 years,” a resident who lives on the road, Ray Beane said. Residents said a long-term fix is long overdue. They said when driving down the road you can’t avoid any of the potholes because there are so many which results in damages to their cars.”People have had tires busted up here and some cars drag. It’s a mess. It’s a shame the road is in this shape,” Beane said.
