West Virginia Supreme Court justice and longtime lawmaker Tim Armstead died this week at the age of 60. Armstead, who has served on the state’s high court since his appointment in 2018, died just before noon Tuesday following a brief hospitalization, according to the West Virginia Supreme Court. Armstead was elected to retain his Supreme Court seat after his appointment in 2018 and was reelected to a 12-year term in 2020. Prior to serving on the Supreme Court, Armstead was Speaker of the House of Delegates, where he’d been a member since 1998.
