State funds will contribute to new Kentucky high school

The state is helping an eastern Kentucky school district pay the cost to build a new high school and tech center. Johnson County Schools Assistant Superintendent Noel Crum said the money is vital as inflation has increased the price tag over the $100 million, creating a gap in funding, according to Eyewitness News. Gov. Andy Beshear said 11 Kentucky school districts divided $110 million designated for new construction and facility renovation. Johnson County received the largest award with $39 million. A groundbreaking for the new school is scheduled for Sept. 3. The project is expected to be ready for the start of the 2028-2029 school year.
