Police are investigating a shooting that hospitalized a 19-year-old Charleston woman Thursday night. Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Beuhring Avenue about 11:30 p.m. in response to a shooting incident, according to a news release from the Charleston Police Department. The news release said a woman was found in the doorway of her home with a gunshot wound in her back. Witnesses told police a vehicle pulled up to the house and fired multiple rounds. A bullet apparently went through a window and struck the woman. Investigators said a vehicle has been recovered and a person of interest has been identified. The victim is in stable condition.
