Former real estate mogul is sentenced for wire fraud

A man who portrayed himself as the “Wolf of West Virginia,” a wealthy, successful real estate mogul, was sentenced to prison for wire fraud Monday. 35-year old Theodore Miller of South Charleston was sentenced to seven years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay more than $398,000 in restitution for two counts of wire fraud, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia. Miller defrauded more than 180 individuals through two real estate investment schemes. Miller’s mother, Deanna Drumm, handled day-to-day tasks of Miller’s business operations, including the management of finances and transfer of funds. Last November she pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the sale and offer of unregistered securities and is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 9, 2025.
